With over 400 rooms this DormaKaba project took place right before COVID and sure was fun. Not only did this project have guest rooms, common area access, and typical staff doors. They also had destination elevators integrated. This was a beautiful property that prioritized guest experience and aesthetic over cost. Those pool gates were a thing of beauty.
A truly unique project, this SALTO installation was for the ATAT training headquarters. Over 300 total units, all apartment style. These were old apartment complexes ATAT had purchased, renovated and built a complex around for the purpose of housing their trainees. It was a fun job with helpful and happy staff.
Sometimes small projects come in big packages, and this was exactly that. In total, it was not an above average SALTO project hardware wise but the building itself was massive. This being the largest distribution warehouse for JCPenney, and being mostly automated, it was a project we will never forget. Installing and configuring devices with robots beeping about, such an interesting sound.
We had the pleasure to lead this large SALTO project from start to finish. Installation went in phases based on construction, and we assisted during opening to make sure no issues arose. Amazing property to really enjoy time with the family, and hopefully we can go back now that they are open!
Military bases are always fun projects, and this Dormakaba project was no different. 7 different building all across the base, removing equipment on vacant and dormant rooms, modifying thick concrete filled frames, this project had no shortage of surprises. In the end, it was a productive and interesting few months. It is always a blessing working on military projects.
Nestled directly on the San Diego bayfront, this 350+ room Hilton property is a gorgeous example of a high end hotel. Hilton always runs a tight ship, so this project went extremely smooth and was done in just a few weeks. Due to the location, I wished it would have taken a bit longer.
One of my favorite projects of all time, and I will tell you why. Complimentary peanut butter and jelly bar, every evening. I am talking ice cold milk, various breads, jellies and jams, and peanut butters. Its one of a kind. This Dormakaba project was obviously a memorable one, and one of the most historical and elegant boutique hotels we have worked on.
This property was actually a beta test site for Dormakaba digital key. All 200+ rooms were some of the first to use Digital Key via Bluetooth/BLE. Having gone back numerous times over the years for upgrades, service and general assistance, this beautiful resort is a favorite of ours.
